President Jonathan's Most Courageous Act is The Confab - Dora Akunyili

Former Minister of Information, Prof. Dora Akunyili, on Tuesday, reappeared at the venue of the ongoing National Conference with a declaration that the confab was President Goodluck Jonathan’s most courageous act.

In her contribution during the discussion on the inaugural speech of the President, Akunyili said the conference was Jonathan’s gift to the country.

Akunyili said, “I want to start by congratulating Mr. President for having the courage to convene the National Conference; Nigerians have for long clamoured for this National Conference. I regard this National Conference as President Jonathan’s best Centenary gift to Nigeria; it is a testimony of the fact that he is a listening President.

“Mr. President’s speech oozes of humility, modesty, patriotism and a deep concern for the present and future of this beautiful country. Jonathan in his maiden Confab address also admitted that ‘sovereignty belongs to the people’ and that those in leadership position are only holding power in trust for the people.”

There have been reports that the ex-Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drugs, Administration and Control was suffering from an undisclosed illness.
She looked frayed when she made a sudden appearance at the ongoing conference in Abuja....culled from punch
