Nymphomaniac mother and lover blamed by the police for toddler’s severed penis

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a married woman, Abidemi Akintoye, and one of her lovers, identified only as Fatai, over the injury inflicted on Abidemi’s one-year-old son, Basheeru.

According to Police authorities, Abidemi, who is an alleged nymphomaniac, had left her three children at home to have sex with Fatai in an uncompleted building on Lamidi Ariyo Street, Okota, when someone severed the little boy’s penis.

A policeman attached to the Okota Police Division said, “Abidemi is a very loose woman. She sleeps with many men in the area, including relatives, despite the fact that she is married with three children.

“Abidemi sells onions and pepper and also sells food for a living. We learnt that on March 23, 2014, one Fatai, who is also Abidemi’s husband’s friend, gave Abidemi’s husband, Ibrahim, N300 to give to Abidemi to help him cook some food.

“Abidemi then sent someone to take the plate of food to Fatai who lives a few houses away.

“In the evening, when Abidemi had put her children to sleep, she went to Fatai’s house under the pretext of going to collect her plate, but in the process, they had a few rounds of sex in an uncompleted building. As that was happening, someone entered into Abidemi’s house and cut off her little son’s penis.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that Abidemi was arrested for negligence, while Fatai was arrested for conspiracy.

“We know that neither Abidemi nor Fatai cut off Basheeru’s penis, but we believe that Fatai, having lured Abidemi away from her children, sent someone to cut her son’s penis for ritual purpose. Anyway, investigations are ongoing,” a police source said.

Abidemi, who spoke to our correspondent amid tears, confessed that she had a sexual problem.

She, however, said she had no hand in the case and urged the police to let her go.

“When I returned from Fatai’s place, I saw neighbours around my house. That was when I discovered what had happened. I had no hand in this.

“I have disgraced myself, but it is not entirely my fault. I lost my virginity at the age of 10 after an okada rider (commercial motorcyclist) raped me. I have been loose since then. I got married to my husband at the age of 16 and I am just 20-years-old, but I have three children,” she said.

When asked if her husband was aware of her philandering, she said he was not aware because he hardly slept at home.

“My husband is a security guard and he works at a hotel so he hardly sleeps at home. He hardly gives me money. Even though my boyfriend, Fatai, is a commercial tricyclist, he gives me N1, 000 or N1, 500 sometimes,” she said.

A neighbour, who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said when the incident occurred, they immediately rushed the child to a nearby hospital.

The neighbour said they were all aware of Abidemi’s ways and were surprised that her husband claimed not to be aware.

PUNCH Metro learnt that due to the severity of the injury, Basheeru had been transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.

“The child will undergo reconstructive surgery. Fortunately, only half of the penis was cut off,” a nurse in the emergency ward said.

When contacted on the telephone, Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the matter was under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.
