Ekorong a Dong told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Lagos that many Nigerians were living, doing their businesses and engaging themselves in different jobs in Cameroon.
He said that the increasing number of Nigerians in Cameroon was an indication of Cameroon’s growing relationship with Nigeria.
I dont know why I dont see any Positive in this; I think he is trying to insult us in a way. The acclaimed biggest economy in Africa has more than 6 million of its citizen living in a french speaking country it should be helping economically. All through my life in Nigeria, I have not seen more than 10 Cameroonians and am sure we don't have more than 500,000 of them in Nigeria.
Mr Ekorong said the reasons few Cameroonians are living in Nigeria is due to issues with resident permit but I don't think this is enough reason. Who would want to come to a country where its citizens are freeing to all part of the world.
Its high time the Government of Nigeria starts putting in place plans to bring back its citizens languishing abroad.. Having one or more Nigerians among every 10 black people in the world to me isn't a good impression about us.
