The outdoor ceremony was held against a backdrop of multiple walls of flowers, and guests included the Kardashian-Jenner family, Brittny Gastineau, Lala Anthony, Jonathan Cheban, Blac Chyna, Tyga, and Jaden Smith, among others. 

According to People magazine, Andrea Bocelli sang as Kardashian was walked down the aisle by step-father Bruce Jenner, and the ceremony was performed by Rich Wilkerson Jr., a pastor from North Miami.

A gunman went on a drive-by shooting rampage in a Santa Barbara student enclave and at least seven people were killed, including the attacker, authorities said.
Investigators believe a 22-year-old named Elliot Rodger driving a black BMW acted alone in the shootings around 9:30pm Friday night near the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown confirmed at a news conference early Saturday that that seven people were killed, including the gunman, and seven wounded.
Brown said the suspect exchanged gunfire with deputies and then drove off and crashed into a parked car.
'We have obtained and are currently analyzing both written and videotaped evidence that suggests this atrocity was a premeditated mass murder,' Brown said.
Rodger is thought to be the son of Peter Rodger, assistant director of the Hollywood film franchise The Hunger Games.

Until 2011, Lagos State University, LASU was a place to get affordable tertiary education in Nigeria. Even then, mothers sold their wrappers, fathers took loans, and students did odd jobs to meet up with the N25, 000 average fee.
Emmanuel Gbesemehane hoped to be one of such students. After waiting years to get admission into the University, the twenty-eight year old finally had the opportunity to study Physics at LASU. His joy was short lived however, when he heard that he would pay N258, 000 per annum.

‘ Before I wrote my Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME,’ he told Saturday Vanguard, ‘the school fees stood at N25, 000. But after I got admission, the fees were increased. But I hoped that with all the noise students were making, the state government would revert to the former fees.’
LASU fees were increased by as much as 750 per cent with medical students being charged up to N345, 750. Because many could not afford it, admission in 2011/2012 session fell by about 30 per cent. In the 2011 post-UTME exercise, students seeking admission to LASU sharply dropped. The over 2,000 students who merited admission having passed post-UTME  had to forfeit their admissions because they could not afford the fees.’

On Tuesday, the CEO of American denim pioneer Levi Strauss publicly admitted that the jeans he was wearing while speaking at Fortune’s ‘Brainstorm Green’ conference hadn’t been washed since he purchased them over a year ago. And people are so freaking out.

“These are one of my favorite jeans—[they] are maybe a year old, and they have yet to see a washing machine. I know that sounds totally disgusting… but believe me, it can be

During our time, the best three students in the Junior Secondary School exams were usually given automatic admission to Government Girls Science Secondary School, Kuje. I remember vividly that I was among the top three students. I used to be very brilliant unlike now. So I was ‘pushed’ to the science school in Kuje. But eventually, I had to finish up at Army Day Secondary School, Asokoro.

Would you remember the first time you performed on the stage?
It was on a Saturday. We used to have a get together every Saturday in my school, Government Girls Science Secondary School, Kuje. I used to be the only one that would come out to perform. Others would be doing other stuff but I would choose to come out and sing in front of everybody feeling like a star.

Police foils bomb attack by suspected Boko Haram members in Abuja

Police in Kubwa, one of the most populated satellite towns in Abuja, Friday afternoon, foiled a bomb attack by suspected Boko Haram members as residents, market women scampered for safety.
A Golf car filled with gas cylinders and jerrycans was said to have been parked near ElRufai Bustop by Channel 8 Junction in Kubwa around 7 am Friday morning, Vanguard learnt
According to eye witnesses, many residents and passersby took to their heels upon noticing the car which they suspected could have been parked to bomb the area.
Eventually the area was cordoned off by the police anti-bomb squad after the police were invited by  the chief Imam of Kubwa Central mosque Sheikh Abdulmumini Ahmad Khalid and other   residents Imam of the of one of the most densely  populated areas of Kubwa.

Amanda Valledor is shocked when her father, who wasn't due to return from Afghanistan until next month, hands her her diploma. 

There was a mistake, Johns Hopkins University officials told Amanda Valledor at Thursday's graduation. 
Her diploma had been misplaced, and the biomedical engineering student would have to wait, they said. 
A few minutes later, a man came to hand Valledor the diploma. It was her father, Col. John Valledor, whom she had not seen since he left for Afghanistan last year.  He had not been scheduled to return home until next month. 
Valledor, 22, froze for an instant, then ran into her father's arms.
"It took a second to register it was my dad," she said in an email. 
The two had stayed in touch through email and Skype over the past 14 months, but the connection was often unstable.

The First Blast ‘Killed’ Me, But the Second Woke Me- Jos Victim

A woman made quite an impression in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, Wednesday when she recounted how she died from the impact of the first bomb blast but rose from the “dead” within a few minutes following the second explosion.

As she recounted her harrowing ordeal in the assault that has so far claimed 75 lives, Mrs. Funke Oloyede, an ample Yoruba lady in her early 40s, who is a survivor of the twin blasts that rocked the city Tuesday, said she “died” and rose, and then almost died again before she was rescued and taken to the hospital.

Oloyede, who had been admitted at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) where she was recovering from the shock of the experience, said: “I was in the front of my customer’s shop buying some shoes for my children, when suddenly I heard a loud and deafening blast that shook the market to its foundation.

“And being a high blood pressure patient, my blood pressure shot up and I collapsed immediately. I thought I was dead. My confused customer could not help me as she scampered for safety too.
“As I lay down there dead and looking for help, the second and louder blast went off and buildings started collapsing, which engulfed the entire market in total darkness.

Three Girls RAPED to coma in Benue State

Nine Fulani herdsmen yesterday went beyond the frequent attacks on hapless communities when they were alleged to have gang-raped three women, including a teenage girl, in Tse Ikyuer, Yandev, Mbagwen in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The women, whose ages range between 18 and 20 years, were attending to house chores in their remote settlement when the herdsmen attacked them with machete and guns and coerced the ladies into submitting to their sexual demands.

Two of the women (names withheld), while narrating their ordeal, wept profusely before the Benue State Governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, who ordered a full investigation into the matter.

One of the women said the leader of the gang (who is at large) had come to their home earlier in the day and asked to be given water to drink.

Soldier opens fire on protesting OAU students

Asoldier escorting an ex-militant fired at the students of the Obafemi Awolowo Univetsity, Ile Ife, Osun State, who were protesting the hike in tuition by the management of the university.

The students had embarked on a peaceful protest over the hike since Tuesday and had continued the protest on Thursday, blocking the Ilesa-Ife Expressway for the second time.

Some students claimed that the soldier used live ammunition, but others said they were rubber bullets.

According to Punch, it was gathered that some soldiers, who were escorting a former militant in a convoy of about five vehicles with presidency number plate, were flagged down by the students who had barricaded the road.

Some students said that the ex-militant being escorted identified himself as High Chief Okubo Robert.

Sacked Man Utd manager David Moyes ATTACKS a Boy in a Bar

Sacked Manchester United manager David Moyes is to be questioned by police over claims he attacked another drinker outside an upmarket wine bar.
Moyes, 51, allegedly erupted in a rage after he was subjected to a torrent of abuse as he arrived with friends. 
One drinker is said to have Mocked him about his recent sacking by Manchester United.
Witnesses say Moyes suddenly turned round and lunged at Joshua Gillibrand, hitting him on the side of the head.
Last night Mr Gillibrand, 23, told The Sun: ‘He grabbed me around the neck and struck me in the back of the head. I ended up face down on the floor.
‘I felt I was going to die. There were tables flying everywhere and glass all over the place.’
Mr Gillibrand, a joiner, said he was treated for concussion and a bloody nose in hospital.
Last night police confirmed they had launched an investigation and sources said they were set to speak to the former Premier League manager.

#BringBAckOurGirls- Police halt protest march on Presidential Villa

The plan by a civil coalition group to march on the Presidential Villa, Abuja in protest over the abduction of the over 200 female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, was halted by the police on Thursday. 

Why would Police halt a peaceful protest? Not as if we have seen any reason not to protest. Its been more than 6 weeks and nothing has been heard of the Chibok girls.

The police blocked the National Assembly junction with personnel and trucks and prevented the protesters from accessing the road that leads to the Presidential Villa.

The police operation was led by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba and FCT Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu.

The coalition group under the name, “#Bringbackourgirls” had earlier written to the Presidency about its intention to take their daily protest to Aso Villa, but got no response from the authorities.

Let Me Explain My 2 days Hiatus

First of all I must say this isn't an intentional absence neither was it forced on me. It happened so we can all upgrade.. lets say I was upgrading myself. For those of us that are familiar with any upgrade, sometimes you don't even know how long the upgrade will take, you just click only to discover you have to wait a long period to access your device again. In my own case, it took two days for the upgrade to finish.

#BringBackOurGirls- British plane sent to help search for schoolgirls breaks down

Britain’s Ministry of Defence on Monday said that a spy plane sent to help in the search for the Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamists had been grounded en route due to a fault.
“A technical fault which has delayed the  on its way to Ghana is being investigated and will be solved as soon as possible,” said an MoD statement.
“In the meantime the UK military team continues its work on the ground while other surveillance aircraft continue the search for the missing schoolgirls.”
According to the Times, the Royal Air Force jet had taken off from Waddington base in east England as planned, but the crew soon noticed a fault.
They decided to fly on and eventually touched down in Senegal, where the plane is now being repaired, according to the paper.

AUSTRALIANS living in Auckland are joining a global movement calling for the safe return of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Nigeria last month.
A report from Australia said the protest march in support of the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign will take place up Queen Street in central Auckland at midday today to Aotea Square.

“My heart breaks not only for the girls, but for their mothers, brothers, aunties and uncles, sisters and grandparents,” says protest organiser, Auckland University student Lydia Hollister-Jones. She added, “we simply can’t afford to sit idly by and wait for the rest of the world to respond. We have to stand up for the return of these precious girls.”

Amnesty International New Zealand executive director Grant Bayldon will speak at the march, which he says is an important opportunity for Aucklanders to call on Nigerian authorities and supporting countries to do everything in their power to secure the safe release of the girls. #BringBackOurGirls rallies have been held around the world and many people have called for the girls’ release, including US First Lady Michelle Obama and former Australian prime minister Helen Clark.

Lagos trader loses N5m buried underground- Funny But serious

There was a mild drama on Monday in the Daleko Market, Mushin, Lagos State, as journalists searched in vain for an unidentified trader who was said to have lost huge sums of money buried in her shop to the fire incident that razed the market on Sunday

Our correspondent, who visited the market, could see the huge hole in the shop where the money was said to have been buried.

One of the traders, who spoke to PUNCH Metro on condition of anonymity, said the trader was in the habit of keeping her money in the underground, instead of a bank.

He said, “The woman usually keeps money in her shop, and would use her goods to cover it.
“But we are not sure if the whole money was destroyed by the fire. The theory here is that those that arrived first at the market saw the money and stole it.”

But an attempt to speak with the said shop owner was unsuccessful as she was said to have gone to Alausa with other market leaders.

Personally am wondering why a woman in a city as developed as Lagos, in the year 2014 and with all the banks surrounding the market would decide to bury her money of up to N5 million under the ground. That's crazy!!!!

Customs Ofiicer Bathes Lady With Acid And Boasts He Is Above The Law

A Nigerian Customs officer known as Mr. Nwaeze has boasted that he is “above arrest,” after bathing a woman in a deadly acid solution two weeks ago.
Mr. Nwaeze who is said to head a Customs unit at Mosafejo Aradagun, is quoted as boasting he "can do and undo".

The victim is Ms. Tope Fadipe. She is Salesgirl at a local food store run by Mr. Nwaeze's family.

She had been selling stocks for the family for about three years before the incident.

On Friday, the 9th May, 2014, she was accused of not remitting N50,000 stock sales, and she had argued her defense.

However, community residents say, Mr. Nwaeze got frenzied at her refuting the allegation, and a heated argument escalated where he alledgedly had bathed her with a deadly acid solution.
Sympathizers say the matter was reported at the Badagry Police Station, and Mr. Nwaeze had boasted no one could arrest him. 

Unemployed Nigerian graduates to receive N19k monthly allowance? Did I hear???

I read in one of the committees reports that a payment for the unemployed is being proposed...for all unemployed graduates in Nigeria to earn a monthly allowance equivalent to the allowance of members of the National Youth Service Corps, which is N19,800.

Punch reports that the conference’s Committee on Law, Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Reform made the recommendation but it can only fall through if it's accepted by the Federal Government.

A member of the committee said the recommendation was one of the ways the committee members felt that crime could be reduced in the country. He told Punch;
"The recommendation is our own way of finding solutions to the rising wave of crime in the country and to also force the government to do the needful for the increasing number of unemployed graduates in the country. We have done our part and it is left for the delegates to either reject or accept it at plenary.”

To me, if the Niger Delta Militants could be paid even with all the crimes they have committed and still committing, why can't unemployed graduates be [aid too. Even if its 10,000 to 15,000 Naira. Am sure it will go a long way to cubing restiveness on the graduated youths.
